Mithun Chakraborty’s son Namashi claims brother Mimoh “would be a superstar if he got as many chances as Abhishek Bachchan”

Mithun Chakraborty continues to command respect and admiration for his contributions to Indian cinema. However, despite his esteemed legacy, his sons, Mimoh and Namashi, are yet to carve their niche in Bollywood. In a candid revelation, Namashi Chakraborty, who recently made his debut with Rajkumar Santoshi’s Bad Boy, expressed his belief that his elder brother, Mimoh, possesses “untapped” potential that could rival that of established stars like Abhishek Bachchan.

Speaking to Lehren Retro, Namashi lamented the lack of opportunities afforded to Mimoh within the film industry. He said, “He was born to a superstar. He has the potential to be a superstar but the industry is too busy favouring other star kids.” Namashi further added, “If my brother, I can say this on the record, got as many chances as Abhishek (Bachchan) sir, my brother would be a superstar today. I can say this with confidence.”

Mimoh began his cinematic journey with the 2008 film Jimmy, and since then, he has faced setbacks. His absence from the limelight has been attributed to the perceived failure of Jimmy, a burden that Namashi believes continues to overshadow his brother’s career. Reflecting on this, Namashi remarked, “Unfortunately, people look at Jimmy as a bigger flop than perhaps a big production film.”

Namashi expressed his frustration with Bollywood’s reluctance to recognize his brother’s potential. He spoke about Mimoh’s status as an “untapped actor” and criticised the industry for not taking him seriously.
