Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning: Part One Box Office: Starts well into the weekdays, will enter Rs. 100 Crore Club by weekend

After doing fantastic business in its extended five-day weekend that saw around Rs. 65 crores coming in, Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning: Part One is now continuing its good run during the weekdays as well. All eyes were on how Monday would turn out to be since the film had anyways been over performing, especially on Saturday and Sunday. Though it was pretty much assured that the fall would be under control since the word of mouth is quite good, it was still pragmatic to wait till Monday and then observe the outcome.

Thankfully, there was no unpleasant surprise as Rs. 5 crores* more did come in and that’s decent enough. Anything around Rs. 5 crores on the first weekday for a biggie is nice and now the Tom Cruise starrer can look at consolidating itself from this point on. There may be some sort of fall today itself but then as is the trend with biggies, there should be settling down phase on Wednesday and Thursday.

So far, Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning: Part One has collected Rs. 70 crores and now it’s a given that the century mark would be crossed by the weekend itself. In fact, the film could well have been bracing up for double digit score on both Saturday and Sunday. However, with Oppenheimer coming up as well, it would be one of the rare scenarios of two Hollywood biggies clashing at the Indian box office with no other Bollywood movie in sight.

*Estimates. Final numbers awaited

Note: All collections as per production and distribution sources
