Married At First Sight: Chloe Brown Late to the Party but Says I Do – Recap [S17E14]

On Married At First Sight, Chloe Brown may be a midseason replacement, but she says I do to once jilted groom Michael Shiakallis. Brennan Shoykhet proves that he’s always the dullest person in the room. Orion Martzloff and Lauren M. are still hanging around and nobody knows why. And Clare Kerr gets emotional and rings up Cameron Frazer but he doesn’t pick up. Pop the champagne and let’s toast to this recap of Season 17, Episode 14 New Groom, Who Dis?

Married At First Sight: Chloe and Michael Finally Get Married

Married At First Sight finally got around to staging the wedding of Chloe Brown and Michael Shiakallis. It contained all the mandatory pre-wedding tears, close-ups and concerned friends and family whispering “it’s ok”. While Michael fears another rejection, Chloe fears that her perfectionism will creep back in to ruin the day and her makeup. So, while fans either held their breath or grabbed a snack, they got hitched.

Chloe Brown is over the top saccharine sweet when she floats down the aisle to her eccentric groom. He’s chosen a pink suit. And “gasp” she’s paired her dress with pink converse sneakers. They hold hands and Chloe gushes dreamily while Michael cracks corny jokes. His groomsmen seem a tad annoyed having to do this again. The remaining MAFS cast members also look on with smug expressions.

Not in attendance at this second chance Married At First Sight extravaganza are Becca Haley and Austin. They are off to see his grandma. Who Becca Haley will no doubt charm the pants off of. Too bad she can’t do that with Austin. Dr. Pepper Schwartz doesn’t appear to be physically present. But you know she’s wired into Michael Shiakallis’ earpiece feeding him things to say and telling him to adjust his hair when needed.

Married At First Sight: Emily Balch Throws Shade and Breaks Glass

Chloe Brown and Michael Shiakallis play the roles of love struck strangers to perfection. In spite of Chloe being a recovering perfectionist. She fawns over his tattoos. He has two rescue cats with smushed faces. Guess what? She has a 14-year-old blind rescue poodle. So, they decide it’s time to go mingle with the few remaining grizzled veterans of season 17. Who are outside dishing on the nuptials.

On Married At First Sight, Emily Balch throws shade and suggests that Chloe Brown seemed a little vanilla for Michael Shiakallis taste. When the newlyweds approach the group everyone offers words of encouragement. Lauren G. says in spite of the original runaway bride Chloe was really the one who should’ve been here to suffer like everyone else. Emily sniffs out the closest place to refill her wine. And Clare miraculous plays down her failed marriage and says she can’t wait for Chloe to meet her husband.

Brennan Shoykhet offers up a word salad to Michael Shiakallis and uses keywords like “journey”. Meanwhile Emily Balch suggests it’s crazy to be back at their wedding venue. He says he really doesn’t consider it theirs. He’s excited for Michael and Chloe’s honeymoon. Emily says they better enjoy it because it’s all downhill after that. He claps back “not if the feelings are the same”. Ouch. She wants to dance and he doesn’t. So she hits the dance floor wine in hand and breaks a glass. Brennan says he’s ready to go.

MAFS: Chloe and Michael Call It a Night

Married At First Sight tradition is to play a bad song while the groom unbuttons the bride’s dress. Chloe Brown cheeses for the camera while Michael does this task and says she’s getting hot. She washes off her makeup and plays a prank on Michael by emerging fresh faced with a false eyelash stuck to her forehead. The two engage in some forced sitcom banter. And decide to call it a night.

Michael’s choice of sleep wear is shorts and socks. Chloe Brown chooses to go under the covers wearing a hotel robe. She wants to know if he’s a cuddler. He says he is and takes the big spoon role. Downstairs in the hotel bar Dr. Pepper Schwartz pulls a bottle of Married At First Sight champagne out of her purse. She pours a glass and toasts to Michael and Chloe. It’s out of her hands at this point. Till next time!
