Mama June: Family Crisis couple Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon Efird and Josh Efird have just shocked fans of the WEtv reality show and nothing will ever be the same for them.
Mama June: Family Crisis fan-faves Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon Efird and her husband, Josh Efird, recently stunned the WEtv fanbase. The news just broke that they separated in July.
And after six years of marriage, they are getting a divorce. Indeed, they seemed like the perfect couple. Of course, you never know what goes on behind closed doors.
However, they appeared to be extremely solid in their marriage and they’re excellent parents. No doubt, this comes as a shock and everyone must be questioning what happened.
Mama June: Family Crisis fans are sure to be wondering what in the world happened to make Pumpkin and Josh separate, and then decide to divorce. They aren’t discussing why they are dissolving their marriage.
However, there is one possible reason that comes to mind. At the conclusion of season six, Pumpkin’s sister, Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon, asked her for a huge favor. Jessie and her girlfriend, Shyann McCant, want to start a family.
So, they were wondering if they could use Josh as a sperm donor because they know he’s a good person. Pumpkin said she would talk to him about it. But then, the Mama June: Family Crisis season came to an end.
Perhaps, Josh wasn’t comfortable with it or maybe, it just put a strain on things. Of course, this is only speculation. The divorce may have nothing to do with Jessie’s request. But it is possible, especially because Pumpkin is the one who filed for divorce.
Of course, the reason’s not important now. What is important is that they are putting whatever differences they have aside and doing what’s best for their kids.
Although the reason for the end of the marriage is still unclear, they appear to be keeping things quite amicable. Josh and Pumpkin have devised their own “parenting plan” and seem to have a handle on it.
Neither one of them is going after the other for child support. Plus, they’re even agreeing to joint custody of their four children, Ella Grace Efird, Bentley Jameson Efird, and twins Sylus and Stella Efird.
Furthermore, Pumpkin will be staying in the house that they rent with the children. And Josh will be moving out within 60 days. Pumpkin has always raved about what an amazing father Josh is. Clearly, that was not the cause of their divorce.
So, perhaps parenting is the easy part for them and hopefully, they can remain close friends moving forward. No doubt, WEtv viewers are saddened by this news. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more about Josh Efird and Pumpkin Shannon’s plans for the future.
