The Ajay Devgn-led Maidaan has taken a very slow start at the box office in India as the film has collected in the range of Rs. 7 to 8 crores on the opening day, which includes Rs. 2.5 crores which has come in from the Paid Previews. The start is poor and the hope is now on the film to consolidate with a healthy box office trend over the coming few weeks.
Maidaan has collected around Rs 2.75 crore across the National Multiplex Chains on Eid Day, leading to an All India Day One in the zone of Rs. 5 crores. The initial audience report is positive and the eyes are now to see if the audience reception translates into numbers in the long run.
The film was delayed multiple times which created a negative impact in the audience’s mindset. The eyes are now on Friday hold and then the jump in collections on Saturday and Sunday.
