Mahima Makwana calls Emraan Hashmi, Naseeruddin Shah starrer Showtime as the ‘kryptonite’ of her career

“Aap Maal Bechiye Mein filmein banaungi”, reveals Mahika Nandy (Played by Mahima Makwana) to a very arrogant ‘Badshaah’ Emraan Hashmi in Karan Johar’s next titled ShowTime. The web-series, produced by the filmmaker, sees Mahima Makwana sharing the screen with actors like Mouni Roy, Shriya Saran, Naseeruddin Shah, Rajeev Khandelwal, among others, as it delves into the controversial topic of nepotism.

The trailer of Showtime was launched with much fanfare on Tuesday, February 13 as several celebrities attended the launch. While addressing the media, Mahima Makwana opened up about doing this show and shared, “I’m so grateful to be working with such talented people, and today on the occasion of the trailer launch I would say that I am sure this show is going to be the kryptonite of my career. I’m really looking forward to it!”

Speaking of Showtime, it promises to be a thought-provoking exploration of the entertainment industry and will showcase Mahima in the role of an entertainment journalist who takes a strong stand against producers who promote nepotism. In the trailer, Mahima Makwana is referred to as ‘an outsider’, as she sets out on a crusade to shed light on this pressing issue which has been the subject of many debates in recent times. On the other hand, Naseeruddin Shah is expected to essay the role of a producer along with Rajeev Khandelwal as a renowned star.
