Madhuri Dixit shows us how to make Ukadiche Modak on the sets of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa

After the raging success of its previous season, Zee TV’s iconic singing reality show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa has returned with a bang. The ongoing show features Himesh Reshammiya, Neeti Mohan, Anu Malik as judges, with Aditya Narayan as the entertaining host. This weekend, viewers will get to watch a ‘Ganeshotsav’ special episode with the country’s dancing queen in the house – Madhuri Dixit.

During this episode, while contestants will be recreating the iconic hits of the actress  like ‘Tamma Tamma’ and ‘Ek Do Teen’ which will leave the audience tapping their feet, the actress will also be seen doing some cooking on stage. Yes, it seems that while shooting the episode, Madhuri confessed about her loves for Maharashtrian-style Ukadiche Modaks. Being quite the expert at making this delicacy at home, the Bollywood Diva decided it was time to show ‘em how it’s done. In fact, to everyone’s delight, Madhuri, herself, went up on stage and cooked Modaks LIVE on the platform, leaving everyone surprised.

While making modaks, Madhuri said, “We use saaran for the stuffing to make Modaks, made of grated Coconut, Jaggery, Sabja seeds and Cardamom powder and the outer layer is made with Rice flour. In the old times, my Aaji would make the roti for Modak on her own, but nowadays, we have moulds to get a proper shape of the Modak. In fact, my Aaji always taught us to serve modaks hot with Desi Ghee because it elevates the taste.”

We hear that this sweet gesture of the actress making Modaks melted everyone’s hearts on the sets of the show. The Ganesh Chaturthi special episode, featuring the heartfelt performances of contestants and the quality time spent with Madhuri, will be airing on Saturday and Sunday at 9 pm, only on Zee TV.
