Love After Lockup former cast members Monique Robinson and Derek Warner had WEtv fans pulling for them during Season 5. It seems that the relationship was not meant to be, and after much drama and controversy, the pair called it quits. Since then, there have been many new developments. Now, Monique says she is ready to tell her side of the story.
During Love After Lockup, viewers may recall Monique and Derek’s love story being filled with lies. From the start, she is leery of trusting her boyfriend, so she hides surveillance cameras around his great-grandmother’s home.
Her instincts proved correct, and she learned she could not trust him. Their relationship was filled with arguments and short breakups. Regardless of all their problems, he proposed during the season finale. Monique gave in and began to plan for their future.
Following the finale, Monique spent some time living in Cleveland with Derek. For a brief period, her future looked bright. She looked forward to their wedding. She even said they discussed having a baby.
But Monique’s happiness didn’t last long. The pair soon called it quits again, this time for good. After their split, things became very nasty between the former couple. They were each using social media to air their dirty laundry.
Monique Robinson says she had to return to Chicago before their breakup. But hours after returning home, she began getting disturbing messages and photos. The messages revealed that her Love After Lockup partner was acting up.
He and his friends were at a club celebrating Cinco de Mayo, and he was with another woman. Of course, he denied all allegations despite her having photographs to prove otherwise.
Things continued to escalate. They began to exchange nasty remarks on social media. The Chicago native says she has yet to reveal all the details surrounding their split. But now she is ready to spill all the tea. While recently appearing on Love After Lockup: Where Are They Now? she opens up about her side of the story.
Monique says that Derek did her dirty. She adds that it all came down to him having no self-control and being unable to stay faithful. She says they still really love each other despite breaking up, and they remain in contact. But, in September, news broke that the Love After Lockup star Derek married a woman named Angel Williams.
Monique Robinson says she wants to tell her side of this crazy Love After Lockup story. However, Derek doesn’t appear to be too happy about this and shares his thoughts.
He says the network and Monique are slandering his name and assassinating his character. He also plugged his upcoming independent film You Belong to Me & Only Me, which will air on Tubi soon.
So, neither of the Love After Lockup former cast members, Monique Robinson or Derek Warner, are finished with each other. At least not yet. Stay tuned. Fans say it looks like more drama will escalate soon.
