Kiara Advani recounts her first stint in front of the camera; says, “I was just 8 months”

Bollywood actress Kiara Advani left the audience awestruck with her enchanting appearance at the IAA Leadership Awards. Following her victory as the recipient of the Best Endorser of the Year award, she took the stage to share her journey. Her foray into the world of entertainment dates back to when she was merely 8 months old, starring alongside her mother in a TV commercial for a baby product. In the advertisement, featuring her mother Genevieve Advani, Kiara portrayed a cheerful infant while her mother showcased various products, including a baby cream.

Speaking at the event, Kiara said, “Now, winning the Brand Endorser of the Year award truly feels like I’ve come whole circle so thank you to each and every brand that has put their faith in choosing me as their face and the audience for believing in everything I do.”

During her discussion with Neeraj Roy from Hungama Digital Media, she elaborated on her understanding of the genuine significance behind brand endorsement while upholding authenticity. She said, “When I started, it felt like endorsements were a perk of the job as an actor. When it came to brands wanting to associate with me, I lent my name to those I was personally consuming or the ones I believed in. I looked for similar, shared values in the brands. As I went along, I realised that on social media millions of people follow, trust and respect you. With that comes a sense of responsibility and you don’t want to let them down. It’s your responsibility to stay authentic and that’s what I think I am.”

The awards were presented across 15 industry categories, spanning automobiles, financial services, FMCG, E-commerce, Edtech, retail and consumer durables, acknowledging outstanding professionals’ diverse achievements and innovative contributions.

At the event, Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, was the chief guest. Nadir B Godrej was the Jury Chairperson. Adar Poonawalla was honoured with the IAA Business Leader of the Year Award. Actors Ajay Devgn and Kiara Advani were crowned the IAA Brand Endorsers of the Year. Dr.Bhaskar Das was inducted into the IAA Hall of Fame.
