Khichdi 2 trailer launch: J D Majethia talks about his kissing scene with Kirti Kulhari: “I guarantee you that Hindustan ki kisi bhi film mein, aapne kabhi aisa kiss nahin dekha hoga”

It’s been a while since one has seen a film without intimacy or violence on the big screen. The makers of Khichdi 2 attempt to fill the void. The team of the film hammered this aspect when they launched the trailer at a fun-filled event in Mumbai. Supriya Pathak Kapoor, J D Majethia, Rajeev Mehta, Anang Desai, Vandana Pathak, Kirti Kulhari and director Aatish Kapadia were present in full force at the trailer launch and they were also joined by Kiku Sharda.

J D Majethia remarked, “A lot of films have too much of violence. Such films even get a U/A certificate. Families watch such films with their kids. Even video games today are violent. Khichdi 2 stands out. I am sure the kids would love it.”

J D Majethia continued, “Nowadays, how many films can you watch it with your family? Kids may see such films and feel ki kisiko bhi maarna sahi hai. We are not against a particular film. Hence, we thought of releasing a film on Diwali which can be enjoyed by all three generations in the family.”

However, sometime later, J D Majethia revealed that Khichdi 2 has a kissing scene! At the same time, he assured that it won’t make viewers uncomfortable.

J D Majethia said, “I guarantee you that Hindustan ki kisi bhi film mein, aapne kabhi aisa kiss nahin dekha hoga! The kiss is such that it’ll get a ‘U’ certificate.” He then joked that those who don’t like can call Kirti Kulhari, “If you think we are wrong, then I’ll share Kirti’s number.”

Khichdi 2 is set in Paanthukistan. When asked about such a name for a country, Aatish Kapadia explained, “We came up with a fictitious nation so that no other country feels offended.” J D Majethia clarified, “It is nothing to do with Pakistan. We are living here peacefully. Unko wahaan jeene do.”
