Kartik Aaryan shows his journey of learning swimming for Chandu Champion: “From a non-swimmer…”

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by Kabir Khan, Chandu Champion has become a box office darling, captivating audiences with its heartwarming story. The film’s success can be attributed not only to its powerful narrative but also to the stellar performance of Kartik Aaryan, who steps into a role unlike any he’s played before.

Aaryan embodies the spirit of Murlikant Petkar, a real-life freestyle swimmer and India’s first Paralympic gold medalist. This transformation wasn’t achieved through makeup alone; it demanded unwavering dedication and a commitment to mastering a skill completely new to Aaryan – swimming.

Prior to Chandu Champion, Aaryan readily admitted he wasn’t a swimmer. However, his portrayal of Petkar necessitated a different reality. The film required him to not just learn how to swim but to swim at an expert level. This wasn’t a task for the faint of heart. Aaryan documented his arduous journey on social media, sharing a video that showcased the relentless effort he poured into mastering the sport.
