Kareena Kapoor Khan, Rani Mukerji reunite; Karan Johar cracks up social media with cult dialogues of these Bollywood Queens

Recently, popular Bollywood star Alia Bhatt hosted a pretty birthday bash for her daughter Raha Kapoor who turned two on November 6. The bash was attended by Raha’s paternal and maternal family along with a host of other Bollywood celebrities. Among them was Raha’s aunt and Ranbir Kapoor’s cousin Kareena Kapoor Khan along with Karan Johar, who is also a father figure to Bhatt and shares a close relation with Kapoors as well as popular actress Rani Mukerji, who was also a part of the guestlist.

In a bid to make the reunion of Kareena Kapoor Khan and Rani Mukerji memorable, filmmaker Karan Johar shared a cute reel that will definitely make you nostalgic about 90s and 2000s Bollywood. The filmmaker first started off the reel with one of Poo aka Pooja’s iconic dialogues (played by Kareena Kapoor Khan) in the Karan Johar directorial Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham saying, “Main prom mein tumhare saath hi jaungi  (I will go to the prom only with you)”, which was originally picturized with her and Hrithik Roshan. As Kareena warmly hugged Rani in the reel, Karan joked with the latter and asked her “Mujhse Dosti Karogi” making a reference to the film done by both of them, who played BFFs in this romantic drama co-starring Hrithik Roshan again. In the caption, however, KJo referred to Rani as Tina which is her iconic character from Karan’s debut Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, as he wrote, “Jab POO met TINA… that’s all!”.

Adding another loop to these series of references, which possibly makes sense only to ardent Bollywood movie buffs, let us remind you that Rani Mukerji was also a part of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and made a brief appearance in the first half of the film as Naina, who is the Raichand’s family friend’s daughter and a close friend to Rahul Raichand, portrayed by Shah Rukh Khan. So, giving a shoutout to all of the 90s and 2000s movie buffs as we ask them did this video make you nostalgic?
