Kanikka Kapur receives the biggest compliment from Sooraj Barjatya after Dono; says, “I have beautifully maintained the dignity & grace of a Rajshri heroine!”

Kanikka Kapur, who marked her grand Bollywood debut with Rajshri Productions’ latest release Dono, starring alongside Rajveer Deol and Paloma, is overwhelmed by the lovely response pouring in from audiences, industry peers, and critics alike. Kanikka’s portrayal of Alina in the film has garnered rave reviews, and recently the actress opened up about playing the quintessential Rajshri heroine in the film.

Kanikka’s journey began in the world of pageantry, where she clinched the prestigious title of Miss Asia 2015 among others. She then embarked on her acting career and secured a pivotal role in Avnish Barjatya’s Dono. Since the film’s release, Kanikka has been showered with compliments, applauding her acting prowess, captivating screen presence, and impressive dancing skills from both the audience and the industry. However, the most significant compliment she received came from none other than the film’s producer, Sooraj Barjatya.

“After the film’s premiere, Sooraj sir conveyed his appreciation, stating that I had beautifully maintained the dignity and grace of a Rajshri heroine, just as heroines have done in films produced by Rajshri Productions over the years,” said Kanikka.

Praising the veteran producer-filmmaker, the actress opened up about her admiration for Sooraj Barjatya, saying, “Since day one, I have really looked up to him and his vision. I’ve always admired how he treats people, and I aspire to be as kind as him in my life. Also, the way he passionately explains a character was something I eagerly looked forward to before every scene.”

Kanikka also went on to share some invaluable advice she received from Sooraj Barjatya during the film’s shoot. “Sooraj sir also used to give me very sensible advices during the shoot of our film like how in a temple, we remove our footwear before we enter and go with a feeling of devotion. Similarly, how we should leave all our baggage of who we are and what we may be going through at home before we come on a set and go with a feeling of being an empty vessel so that we can absorb our characters and what they are going through more easily. There is a lot that one can learn from him!” she concluded.

Dono marked the debut of Sunny Deol’s younger son Rajveer Deol as well as Poonam Dhillon’s daughter Paloma along with Sooraj’s son Avnish S Barjatya as the director. The film released in theatres on October 6.
