Kanguva press conference at Miraj IMAX Wadala: Siva reveals that he signed Bobby Deol after seeing his airport video on Instagram; adds, “If he was an animal in Animal, here he’s a WILD animal”

The press conference of Kanguva was held in Mumbai in Miraj IMAX Wadala. The event started more than two hours late and moreover, Bobby Deol and music director Devi Sri Prasad, who were supposed to attend, couldn’t make it, irking the mediapersons. However, the exclusive glimpse of the assets in 3D along with the answers given by the attendees – Suriya, director Siva, producer K E Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green and Jayantilal Gada of PEN India Ltd – made up for the shortcomings.

Bobby Deol’s look is intriguing and a journalist asked Siva about it. The very humble Siva replied, “Bobby sir is a fantastic actor and a great human being. I had fun working with him and also learned a lot. I have been watching his films since childhood like Gupt (1997), Soldier (1998), etc. I have been a big fan of his work.”

He then revealed how he signed him. He said, “I saw his clip on Instagram. He was getting down from a car at the airport. The kind of swag he carried inspired me (to sign him for Kanguva). I was waiting to find my Udhiran, the character played by Bobby sir in the film.”

Sharing more details about Bobby Deol’s character, Siva stated, “Udhiran is worshipped by his clan in the film. He’s a ruthless person who doesn’t know the meaning of kindness at all. I can simply say that if Bobby sir was an animal in Animal (2023), here he’s a wild animal!”

He also said, “Bobby sir has nailed the part. His expressions and the way he carried himself, his swag, his screen presence and the stunts he has done are commendable. He has added a lot of value to the character. Hence, I am very grateful and thankful to Bobby sir.”

Kanguva releases in cinemas on November 14.
