Kalki Koechlin breaks silence on polyamorous relationships; says, “It was a very different period in my life”

Kalki Koechlin is known as one of the industry’s most prolific stars. In a recent interview, she discussed her experiences with polyamorous relationships, highlighting the importance of clear communication and mutual understanding.

During her conversation with Hauterrfly, Kalki shared that she currently does not have time for polyamorous relationships. She reflected on her past experiences, noting that it’s essential to establish specific rules and boundaries when engaging in such relationships. She said, “Now that I am married and have a kid, I don’t think I got time for that sh*t, because you just don’t even have time to see your own partner. But I think that it has happened in the past, and again, I think you have to be very specific about your rules and boundaries.”

Koechlin admitted that she looked into polyamorous relationships as “an experiment” and didn’t know if it would work for her in the long run. Speaking about the boundaries, she said, “It means, perhaps it can’t be from your circle. I don’t think you can go as deep in a polyamorous relationship. Although I do know people who have managed to have a lifetime and have kids as well and do it. For me, it was a very different period in my life, I was much younger. I wasn’t interested in settling down, so it was okay. The idea was to be kind of each other’s main person but just also be like an experiment. I know people who have done but I don’t know if I would be able to be as invested in a long term.”

In the same interview, Kalki Koechlin announced that she has married her partner, Guy Hershberg. The couple welcomed a daughter in 2020. Prior to this, she was married to director Anurag Kashyap, but they separated in 2015.

On the work front, Koechlin was last seen in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, and her 2022 film Goldfish was recently re-released.
