Kalki 2898 AD Mumbai event: Deepika Padukone jokes “We should be CELEBRATING that Prabhas said more than two sentences”; Prabhas calls Amitabh Bachchan the first PAN-INDIA star

A grand event of Kalki 2898 AD was held today at a five star hotel in Mumbai and was full of surprises. The lead cast of the film – Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Kamal Haasan and Deepika Padukone – graced the event along with producer C Aswani Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies.

There were many memorable moments of the evening. Deepika Padukone made a rare public appearance in her pregnant avatar. Prabhas rushed to help her get down the stage. Amitabh Bachchan also sweetly helped. The anchor of the evening was Rana Daggubati and he interacted wonderfully with the film’s team.

Prabhas said, “I should think Dutt sir and director Nag Ashwin for giving me an opportunity of working with such legends. Its bigger than any dream.”

He added, “The first time, I met Amitabh sir, I touched his feet. He told me, ‘Don’t do it. If you do, I’ll also do it’!”

Praising Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas revealed, “I grew up watching him. My uncle’s had his hairstyle. He’s the first actor of Indian cinema to reach every part of the country. If anyone is tall, we tend to call him Amitabh Bachchan!”

Prabhas also spoke highly of Kamal Haasan and Deepika Padukone. On Deepika, he said, “I always wanted to work with Deepika. It was beautiful to work with her.”

Deepika Padukone raised laughs as she joked, “We should be celebrating that Prabhas said more than two sentences!”
