On Thursday, Kalki 2898 AD (Hindi) concluded its extended first week and collected Rs. 10.10 crores at the box office. This is an expected drop when compared to the previous day when Rs. 11.50 crores had come in. Very importantly, the double-digit trend was retained by the film and that has set it up well for a very good second weekend ahead unless there is a surprise.
The film has started with Rs. 22.50 crores on its Thursday release and now that Rs. 10.10 crores have come on Thursday, it conveys good hold. That’s what the film would be expecting on Friday as well, so that the stabilisation factor comes in before growth happens all over again tomorrow and day after. In the first weekend the film had actually taken off on Sunday since there were cricket matches before that. However, there is no such engagement this weekend which means the scope is there for the film to grow at least 30%-40% tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 AD (Hindi) has now collected Rs. 163.25 crores which is a solid number. In a year when collections are so difficult to come by and Fighter is the only film to enter the Rs. 200 Crores Club, Kalki 2898 AD (Hindi) will score a double century this weekend itself and then add a lot more before the close of its lifetime run.
