Kalki 2898 AD Box Office: Prabhas and Deepika Padukone starrer [Hindi] has an excellent Sunday enters Rs. 100 Crores Club

Kalki 2898 AD [Hindi] has entered the Rs. 100 Crore Club. In a year that has seen a draught of big-ticket films with only Fighter and Shaitaan managing to go past the Rs. 200 crores and Rs. 150 crores mark respectively, it’s remarkable that Kalki 2898 AD [Hindi] has moved really fast to hit a big century. Though from Thursday to Saturday it scored in the 20s, it gathered huge pace on Sunday to get into the 40s actually.

As a result, Rs. 40.15 crores were accumulated at the box office and to think of it, this is just the Hindi version since the original Telugu versions is also collecting well and then there are other dubbed versions as well. Coming back to the Hindi version, the numbers are quite good across board and that can happen only if the content appeals to the mass as well as class audiences.

The opening has done the job for the film in terms of initial audiences coming in, which means from Monday onwards the word of mouth will start coming into play. At the bare minimum, one expects a double-digit score that would reflect acceptance. Anything in Rs. 12-15 crores range would be quite good and if somehow the collections end up being on the north of Rs. 15 crores, then we could well be witnessing a blockbuster in the making here. That would be of paramount importance to take the film far beyond its current total of Rs. 112.15 crores.
