Kalki 2898 AD Box Office: Prabhas and Deepika Padukone starrer does quite well on Saturday despite cricket match

Kalki 2898 AD [Hindi] is continuing to do very good business at the box office and bringing in audiences in hordes. This was seen on Saturday as well when collections ended up crossing the Rs. 25 crores mark despite the cricket match, which had hooked the nation. Not that the theatres were going empty since there was still good enough occupancy in the evening and night shows as well. However, if one looks at the kind of footfalls that theatres had seen right till the later afternoon shows then well, the overall collections would have looked even better if not for the match.

This can well be seen from the fact that Rs. 26.25 crores more came on Saturday and that was further increment over Rs. 22.50 crores on Thursday and Rs. 23.25 crores on Friday. The film has been seeing a gradual rise in numbers, though today it will shoot up in a big way. First and foremost, it’s Sunday. Secondly, there is holdover audience from Saturday which will watch the movie now. Thirdly, the nation’s mood is jubilant and watching Kalki 2898 AD [Hindi] could be another form of celebration.

The film has now collected Rs. 72 crores, which is a very good number, especially considering the poor state that box office has been having for a while when it comes to big grossers. However, going by mighty standards that Prabhas has anyways set for himself, the numbers are lesser than the first three day collections of not just much-maligned Adipurush [Rs. 103 crores] but even Saaho [Rs. 79.08 crores]. That said, this margin should be covered quite comfortably today since Kalki 2898 AD [Hindi] has arrived on Thursday and a mighty Sunday still awaits it.
