Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan marked his big break into the film industry with Maharaj, which also starred Sharvari Wagh. The OTT film, a period drama, marked his debut in a leading role, showcasing his range as an actor. But before the release, the film was put on stay order by Gujarat HC, claiming it hurt religious sentiments. However, in an interview, Junaid shared that even though the film was embroiled in legal trouble, he was confident that the film would be released.
Junaid shared, “When the Gujarat High Court stay order came, we were very worried. But I knew that Siddharth Sir [director Siddharth P Malhotra] had made the film with utmost care and respect. I was confident it would release one day.”
His performance in the film was widely appreciated. Junaid, known for his work in theater, brought that same passion and meticulousness to his debut film Maharaj, demonstrating his versatility and depth as an actor.
After the massive success of Maharaj, Junaid has exciting projects lined up ahead. He will share the screen with Khushi Kapoor in an untitled romantic drama set to release in February 2025. Junaid also has another project with Sai Pallavi which marks the actress’ Bollywood debut.
