Jawan Box Office: Shah Rukh Khan starrer sets a new record for Bollywood films, enters Rs. 200 Crores Club in just 3 days

It’s a record. In just three days, Jawan has entered the Rs. 200 Crore Club. This has never happened before as even Pathaan took 4 days to reach there while Gadar 2 took 5 days. In case of Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan has shown the way that the feat can be accomplished in 3 days itself, and that has now set the benchmark for films to follow.

Of course, this has also been aided by collections which have come from the Tamil and Telugu versions. On Saturday too, the film was quite close to its Thursday numbers when it comes to the south languages, what with Rs. 9 crores* coming in. However, it’s the Hindi version that was truly bombastic with a huge Rs. 68 crores* being netted.

Earlier this year, Pathaan had set the record for the biggest single day ever for a Hindi release when it brought in Rs. 70.50 crores (including 2.50 crores from the south versions) on the Republic Day. Now Jawan has come close to that in just the Hindi version and if one accounts for the south versions also then the milestone has been left far behind.

Records are just flowing for the Atlee directed film and there would be much bigger numbers coming in that will keep the record keepers engaged. Just the Hindi version of the film currently stands at Rs. 179.73 crores* which is the most that any Bollywood has netted in the first three days while the overall total (including Tamil and Telugu versions) reads a massive Rs. 204.73 crores*. Today, the film will go past the Rs. 275 crores total rather comfortably and though the four-day extended total would fall a little short of Rs. 300 crores mark, we now know that it can be done.
