Jawan Box Office: Shah Rukh Khan becomes the 1st Bollywood actor to NETT Rs. 1,000 cr. at the India box office in a single calendar year

Last week we finally saw the release of the Atlee directorial Jawan. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi the film that was one of the most anticipated releases of 2023 as expected opened with a bang. After a massive spate of advance bookings, Jawan, which came with immense hype and expectations, saw an equally high rate of spot booking, which propelled the business of the film greatly. Now, at the close of its second weekend the business of the film has managed to near the Rs. 500 cr mark.

In this box office report, we look at the cumulative total collections of Shah Rukh Khan starrer that have released till date while comparing the same to other actors. Not surprisingly, with massive money-spinners like Pathaan that collected Rs. 543.05 cr within the domestic market and Jawan that crossed the Rs. 200 cr mark within 3 days collecting Rs. 479.99 cr after its second weekend, Shah Rukh Khan has emerged as the first Bollywood actor to collect over Rs. 1,000 cr Nett at the domestic box office. With just two releases in 2023, SRK who stands with a NETT collection figure of Rs. 1023.040 cr has managed to surpass the overall collections of Akshay Kumar starrer, which had raked in Rs. 757.130 cr from four releases in 2019 to claim the number one spot on the list. If that was not enough, the box office business of SRK’s releases have placed the actor higher on the list as compared to Ranveer Singh, Salman Khan, and Sunny Deol.

Interestingly though, Jawan which has managed to capture the audiences’ attention is still going strong in theatres. In fact, with little to no competition, the business of the film is more than likely to near the Rs. 550 cr mark  at the box office by the end of its third week running.
