“I did not choose Sushmita, she chose me,” says Ram Madhvani on casting Sushmita Sen in Aarya series

Aarya Sareen aka Sushmita Sen is all set to don in town in Aarya Season 3. After receiving an International Emmy Award Nomination for Season 1 and two successful seasons, the wait ends as the franchise returns with its third season. Created and co-directed by Ram Madhvani and co-produced by Amita Madhavni, Ram Madhvani, Ram Madhvani Films and Endemol Shine India, the dawn of a fearless reign unfolds with Aarya Season 3 exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar.

Ram Madhvani, the creator of Disney+ Hotstar’s Aarya Season 3, talked about how Sushmita Sen quickly embraced the project and said yes, highlighting the special partnership they had during the making of the series.

Elaborating on the same, Ram Madhvani said, “I did not pick Sushmita; Sushmita picked me. Sushmita is in the choice of deciding what she needs to do; she is the power. She is the person who chooses whom she would like to work with on various projects. It is always the actor who is in the position of choice, and with Sushmita, certainly, there was no reason for her to say yes. I’m very grateful that she said yes. I’m blessed not just by the universe but also blessed by Miss Universe. I’m blessed that the universe and Miss Universe both said yes to me.”

He added, “I was meant to make a film years ago; people know about that, but it did not work out. Now it happened because of Disney+ Hotstar coming to me and saying, ‘We knew that you had this in your head for about 8-9 years, would you like to make this?’ I said yes. When we went to meet Sushmita, she was so excited and wanted to do it. After that first meet, I came out of that meeting with my wife and co-producer, Amita, who’s really the force behind the whole show saying, ‘Sushmita is such a good actress and she seemed so excited about the show. With Sushmita, apart from her being a really good actress, she also tells you everything on your face.’ I’ve realized that when she says something, she tells you straight. It was a big moment in my life, not only knowing that she says everything straight, but also that she did say yes to the show and committed to it and committed to my system and the way that I work.”
