Housefull 2 turns 12! Zareen Khan says she’s “grateful” for being a part of this comic-caper

As Housefull 2 clocks 12 years of its release, Zareen Khan revisited her experience of filming the comic caper, which marked the actress’ first attempt at comedy after featuring in the period-drama Veer (2010) as a princess. The film saw Zareen carrying the part of JLo effortlessly. She received appreciation for commanding presence with her true-blue glamorous Bollywood heroine avatar.

She created an impact with her short yet pivotal role as JLo in the film, which witnessed box office success by earning an estimated amount of Rs 179.15 crores worldwide. It was also one of the highest-grossing films of 2012.

Directed by Sajid Khan, Housefull 2 also starred Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Shreyas Talpade, Asin, Riteish Deshmukh, Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty, Johnny Lever, Jacqueline Fernandez and Shazahn Padamsee, among others.

Speaking about the film, Zareen said, “Housefull 2 is very close to my heart. Think about it, a wonderful opportunity to be in such a successful franchise with an amazing star cast right after my first film! So, I feel very fortunate. And in times when people tend to forget a film just after its release weekend, this film stood the test of time and continues to entertain the audience even today. It is nothing short of a blessing to be part of a film that had the audience laughing their hearts out.”

The makers Nadiadwala Grandson are now gearing up for the fifth film in the franchise titled Housefull 5.
