After much anticipation which was built around one of the biggest releases this year, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar was finally unveiled on May 1 on Netflix. Boasting of an ensemble cast of Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sharmin Segal, Shekhar Suman, Adhyayan Suman, Fardeen Khan, and others, the highly awaited Sanjay Leela Bhansali web show is creating waves. Receiving applauds for her performance, a thrilled Richa decided to share to the audience of what went behind creating the famous ‘Lajjo’ – one of the beautiful courtesans of the Shahi Mahal.
Richa Chadha took to Instagram to share a BTS video from her Kathak song ‘Masoom Dil Hai Mera’ from Heeramandi, a heartbreaking number which is expected to be one-of-a-kind dance number for the actress who has done versatile roles in the past. Penning down a note along with the post, she said, “Wanna see what all goes into making a memorable character dancing her swan song with a master – The SLB? 2 hours of hair and make up … got to work with @tanujadabirmakeup and @ashisbogi for #masoomdilhaimera ! Then the heavy, oh so heavy Anarkali by @rimpleandharpreet ! #lajjoheeramandi”
She further went on to add, “The cute doggies on set were the best stress busters… you see here me cuddling with the best baby puppers in a break, and our set favourite Bagheera taking a lap ride with Ashis! Some mirror practice of the bhaav, walking to our beautiful set, gearing up for the challenge!!! And afterwards… The tears are real… so you see Tanuja removing the remains of running mascara from under my eyes… tell me what did you think of that last shot of Lajjo dancing… Be honest, DID IT MAKE YOU CRY ?”
