Gadar 2 Box Office: Director Anil Sharma makes his debut in Bollywood’s 300 cr. club

The Anil Sharma directorial Gadar 2 which hit screens over a week ago has been unstoppable at the box office. Starring the original duo of Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel from the 2001 film Gadar – Ek Prem Katha, the film has wowed the audience. In fact, with highly positive critic reviews, immense hype for the film and general audience curiosity the business of Gadar 2 has been seeing consistent growth each day. After sailing past the Rs. 100 cr and Rs. 200 cr mark with relative ease the film has now made it past the Rs. 300 cr mark.

Collecting Rs. 305.13 cr in just 8 days of its release, Gadar 2 has now become the second fastest Rs. 300 cr grosser after the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan. Now, with Gadar 2 entering the Rs. 300 cr mark, director Anil Sharma makes his debut in this highly exclusive club. In fact, Sharma now joins other directors like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Kabir Khan, SS Rajamouli, and Nitesh Tiwari who each have one film that has made it past the Rs. 300 cr mark. Apart from them, Anil Sharma also shares the club with Ali Abbas Zafar, Rajkumar Hirani and Siddharth Anand each of who have two films that have made it past the Rs. 300 cr mark.

Currently, the craze for Gadar 2 refuses to simmer down, with audience flocking theatres across both metros and mass dominated sectors in droves. Given this reaction coupled with the hype surrounding the film, trade predictions state that the business of Gadar 2 could easily cross the Rs. 350 cr mark by the end of its second weekend running.
