Ameesha Patel has acted in a number of films over the last two decades while playing different types of characters. Her most famous character remains Sakeena from Anil Sharma’s Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. The film not only received praise from the audience, but it also went onto become a historic blockbuster. The film minted over Rs. 75 crores nett in India, which was an unheard amount in the year 2001.
It now seems that the sequel of Gadar titled Gadar 2 is all set to challenge the box office record of the first film. The movie, which released on Friday August 11, has went onto earn a mammoth Rs. 228.98 crores in just five days.
This has also ensured that Ameesha Patel has entered the Rs. 200 Crores Club for the first time with this film. The actress’s case is a rare one where someone has directly entered the Rs. 200 Crores Club without entering the Rs 100 or 150 Crore Club. The actress’s previous highest score, interestingly, is Rs. 76 crores scored by Gadar: Ek Prem Katha.
Gadar was the first time that Ameesha teamed up with Sunny Deol. The two also acted together later in Teesri Aankh: The Hidden Camera (2006) and Bhaiaji Superhit (2018).
Coming back to Gadar 2, the film is still going strong and is expected to continue its golden run in the coming days.
