From Bade Miyan Chote Miyan to Maidaan: 5 prominent films to release in April 2024

The year so far has been quite good for Bollywood with a number of films doing well at the box office. The recent ones being Madgaon Express and Crew. Now the month of April also boasts of films that have a fair chance at the ticket window.

Here are 5 prominent films to release in April:

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan

The Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff starrer is one of the biggest releases of the month. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is an out-and-out action thriller where the two protagonists are hell bent from saving India from a deadly attack by an evil character, played by Prithviraj Sukumaran. Produced by Pooja Entertainment, the movie will be released on April 10.

Maidaan

Maidaan is all set to clash with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan on April 10. The movie is a sports biopic directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma and produced by Boney Kapoor. The movie stars Ajay Devgn in the lead role and is based on the life of Syed Abdul Rahim, who was the Indian national football team coach and manager. He led India to several victories and achievements during his tenure.

Amar Singh Chamkila

Imtiaz Ali’s Amar Singh Chamkila is based on the life of the renowned Punjabi singer and musician, of the same name, who was known for his revolutionary and controversial lyrics that often depicted the raw realities of life. The film stars Diljit Dosanjh in the titular role while Parineeti Chopra plays his wife Amarjot Kaur. The movie will stream on Netflix on April 12.

Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2

Director Dibakar Banerjee and producer Ektaa R Kapoor shocked the audiences 14 years ago when they came up with a film with a title as bold as Love Sex Aur Dhokha (2010). The film was a daring effort, which made it a surprise success that year. Now, the duo is back with Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 and its teaser promises something way different than what we expected from it. It’s all set to release in theatres on April 19.

Do Aur Do Pyaar

Director Shirsha Guha Thakurta’s Do Aur Do Pyaar is a modern take on love and relationships. But unlike most rom coms, this one focusses on two couples as it stars Vidya Balan, Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D’Cruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy. Although the trailer of the film is not out yet, its unusual casting has made heads turn. The movie releases in theatres on March 29.
