Farhan Akhtar showers praises on Manvat Murders; calls actor Ashutosh Gowariker ‘a pleasure’ to watch

Manvat Murders, starring Ashutosh Gowariker, has been met with overwhelmingly positive reviews from fans and critics alike. Ashutosh, who is known as a renowned filmmaker, has been an actor for years and decided to pursue his passion for acting once again. His recent portrayal of real-life DCP Ramakant Kulkarni has sparked a buzz across the entertainment industry, as praises continue to flood in. Among those commending his performance is Farhan Akhtar.

Considering that Farhan himself dons multiple roles, the filmmaker-actor extended his support towards Gowariker’s new web show as well as Ashutosh’s acting skills. Taking to his Instagram story, he shared a poster of the web-series Manvat Murders and along with that he penned his review saying, “Really enjoyed watching this. Congratulations to Ashish Bende , Girish Joshi, Saie Tamhankar, Sonali Kaul, Makarand Anaspure, and team. Plus, getting to see Ashutosh Gowariker back in his actor avatar was a pleasure.” Ashutosh plays a police officer inspired by real life cop Kulkarni and the actor seems to be receiving a lot of love for his portrayal of conflict between anger and restraint. Meanwhile, a thrilled Gowariker also responded the sweet words of Akhtar as he added, “Thank you so much Farhan Akhtar. So glad that you saw the show and thrilled that you liked it”.

For the unversed, Ashutosh, who had taken a break from acting in the late 90s, returned to the arena with the Marathi film Ventilator (2016) and later featured in the web-series Kaala Paani (2023).

Coming to the show Manvat Murders, it is based on a real life case which shocked India. It is a crime thriller series directed by Ashish Avinash Bende and written by Girish Joshi. Produced under Storyteller’s Nook, the show also stars Kishor Kadam and Mayur Khandge and premiered on SonyLIV on October 4.
