EXCLUSIVE: Taran Adarsh credits Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 for Kartik Aaryan’s rise to stardom; says, “He truly owns the brand now as an actor”

Veteran film trade analyst Taran Adarsh recently praised Kartik Aaryan for his exceptional rise to the top, attributing much of his current stardom to the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Taran Adarsh noted how, despite Kartik’s past hits, there remained a section of the audience and industry insiders who believed that Akshay Kumar would have been a better choice for the role, given his association with the first film in the franchise.

Taran said, “I think Kartik Aaryan has benefited from this film. He had hits in the past, during Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 there was still a section of the audience, as well as some within the industry, who felt that Akshay Kumar would have been a better fit for the role. This debate was going on constantly because Akshay was there in Part 1. However, now everyone has been silenced. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 belongs entirely to Kartik Aaryan, he truly owns the brand now as an actor.”

Adarsh pointed out that the confidence to release the film against a formidable opponent like Singham Again due to its massive cast and its brand led by Rohit Shetty, was no small feat. He stated, “Moving forward, this brand has only become bigger. Whenever Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4 comes around, it’s going to be huge because Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has achieved those kinds of numbers, even with a major clash. It’s a massive achievement for Kartik, the producers Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani, and director Anees Bazmee, who had the confidence to release the film despite the formidable competition from Singham Again. They could have easily made excuses that we are not coming on Diwali. Nobody wants to clash with a mighty opponent, especially with the brand, that too Rohit Shetty with such a massive cast. Kartik Aaryan has delivered those numbers. Kartik aaryan has scored brownie points.”
