Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi recently shed light on his distinctive role in the upcoming ZEE5 film Kadak Singh, offering insights into his character AK Shrivastava and drawing comparisons with his own persona. The actor, known for his versatile performances, shared how the role in question is a departure from his previous characters.
Speaking about the dissimilarities between himself and AK Shrivastava, Tripathi said, “I am not exactly a workaholic, but I do take work very seriously. Sometimes I feel like taking a break from my work, whereas AK Shrivastav is completely opposite. There is no such similarity, but the role was different and unique; that’s why I took this role. I have never done a role like this before. This role has two sides, and something like this is very rare to get. So, if you compare me with the character, we are completely different, but this story has two layers, and something new. That is why I took it.”
Speaking about his experience of working with an ensemble crew of National Award winners, including Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, Parvathy Thiruvothu, and Jaya Ahsan, Pankaj Tripathi expressed his admiration for the professionalism and dedication displayed by his co-stars. He said, “It was a wonderful experience. I think, apart from Sanjana everyone was a National Award winner. They were very professional and dedicated to their work. They even managed to keep such a serious workplace fun for us as well. It was a good team to work with altogether.”
Kadak Singh follows the life of AK Shrivastav aka Kadak Singh, a Joint Director at the Department of Financial Crimes who is currently battling retrograde amnesia. The film unfolds as AK is admitted in the hospital and is presented with conflicting narratives about his past, compelling him to discern fact from fiction. The film is slated to release on ZEE5 on December 8, 2023.
