EXCLUSIVE: Fighter star Akshay Oberoi thinks Akshay Kumar nails the Indian Air Force look

Actor Akshay Oberoi, known for his role in Siddharth Anand’s recent aerial-action film Fighter, shared his thoughts on potential casting choices for a future instalment of the film. During a rapid-fire round with Bollywood Hungama, Oberoi, who portrayed a Squadron Leader in the movie, was asked which Bollywood actor he thinks would look perfect in an Indian Air Force uniform.

Oberoi’s answer may surprise some: “Akshay Kumar.” This choice is interesting considering Kumar has donned the uniform multiple times throughout his career including as an Indian Air  Force officer in his 2003 film Andaaz.

Later in the interview, when asked if he would like to join the Army, Navy, or Air Force, Oberoi’s response reflected a newfound appreciation for the armed forces. He stated, “Now that I have seen it, I can’t. They give their lives everyday.”

Coming back to Fighter, it is produced under Viacom18 Studios and Marflix Pictures. The film stars Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor. Besides Akshay, Karan Singh Grover and Sanjeeda Shaikh also play pivotal roles in the film. 

Coming to the professional front, the 39-year-old actor has a bunch of exciting projects in his kitty. He will be next seen sharing the screen space with Jackie Shroff for Shravan Tiwari’s next, which is touted to be an explosive action thriller.
