EXCLUSIVE: Exhibitor Manoj Desai shares his “One Fear” about Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2

Filmmaker Sukumar’s Pushpa: The Rise became a surprise blockbuster in 2021. In fact, the Hindi dubbed version of this Telugu film did better than the original language, which hardly anyone expected. Plus, its lead actor Allu Arjun became a national star. So, obviously, there is massive excitement for Pushpa 2: The Rule.

Sharing how high the anticipation is for the film, Manoj Desai, Executive Director of Mumbai’s G7 Multiplex and Maratha Mandir cinema, said in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, “The trailer has been amazing. I am re-releasing Pushpa 1. I will also re-release it in Maratha Mandir. This will refresh people’s memories of that film and the lead pair of Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna.”

However, the exhibitor has one fear for Pushpa 2. “December is expected to go well for us because of Pushpa 2. But I have one fear for Pushpa 2. Pushpa 1, which will be re-releasing on Friday, had some amazing songs. It also had that dialogue, ‘Woh dekh rahi hai kya? Mujhe dekh rahi hai kya?’ People used to laugh at this crazily. Its songs were terrific.”

He added, “But I don’t know about the songs of Pushpa 2. One song has been released but I have no idea about it.”

Apart from Allu Arjun, Pushpa 2: The Rule will carry forward the characters played by Rashmika Mandanna and Malayalam superstar Fahadh Faasil.
