EXCLUSIVE: Anjali Anand praises Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani co-star Jaya Bachchan’s infectious energy; says, “Esse hi naam kharab kar rakha hai bechaari ka”

After a much-anticipated hiatus of seven years, renowned filmmaker Karan Johar has made a triumphant return to the director’s chair with his latest offering, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. This highly awaited film features a stellar cast, led by the dynamic duo of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, and includes the esteemed presence of veteran actors Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, and Jaya Bachchan. In addition to these talents, the film introduces the skills of Bengali actors Tota Roy Chowdhury and Churni Ganguly, with Anjali Anand taking on the role of Ranveer Singh’s sister. In a recent interview, Anjali Anand, who played a significant role in the film shared her experience working with the team.

In an exclusive video interview with Bollywood Hungama, Anjali Anand expressed her admiration for Jaya Bachchan. She dispelled any misconceptions, stating, “I enjoyed the most with Jaya Bachchan because she is so much fun to be around, contrary to popular opinions. Esse hi naam kharab kar rakha hai bechaari ka (Her name is simply tarnished, poor thing). She is so so so sweet. She feeds me food. She is like a big ball of energy and fun all the time.”

Sharing her warm bond with director Karan Johar, Anjali remarked, “Karan sir also, I have grown up watching his films. I always say my name is Anjali, he is Karan Johar, obviously it is meant to happen. So I absolutely love him.”

Speaking about her co-star Ranveer Singh, Anjali shared her admiration saying, “Ranveer has been so supportive since day one. He is actually interested in talking to you and knowing your scene when, how you did this. He knows what scene you did, what your dialogue was, what is happening in the scene.”

As Anjali Anand continues to make her mark in the industry, she is gearing up for her next project, Penthouse, where she will grace the screen alongside stars like Bobby Deol, Mouni Roy, and Arjun Rampal.
