Ektaa R Kapoor says, “I am a Hindu. But a Hindu means you are secular” as she opens up about her film The Sabarmati Report

The trailer of The Sabarmati Report that was unveiled on November 5, showcase a powerful, hard-hitting, and impactful narrative about one of the most devastating incidents in India’s history. During the grand trailer launch, producer Ektaa R Kapoor decided to tackle the subject of religion and showcased her respect towards Hinduism while maintaining an approach of being secular.

During the trailer launch, when asked about being afraid of sending the film to the censor, Ektaa R Kapoor responded saying, “Mujhe bilkul darr nahi tha because maine kabhi bhi life mein darr k kaam nahi kiya hai (I am not scared and I have never been afraid about doing my work in my life). I am a Hindu. But a Hindu means you are secular. I will never make a comment about any religion because I am a Hindu”

The trailer promises to showcase the facts about what really happened on the Sabarmati Express on the morning of February 27, 2002 as it makes many of us revisit the incident, as it aims to take us on a journey through an incident that changed the socio-cultural factor of India. Moreover, the team of the film has asserted that this perspective on the event has rarely been discussed despite the lasting impact it had on countless lives.

Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd presents, A Vikir Films Production, The Sabarmati Report stars Vikrant Massey, Raashii Khanna, and Ridhi Dogra in key roles along with an ensemble supporting cast. It is directed by Dheeraj Sarna and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Amul V Mohan and Anshul Mohan along with worldwide wide release by Zee Studios. The film will be releasing in theatres on November 15, 2024.
