The Rajkumar Hirani directorial Dunki starring Shah Rukh Khan hit screens last week to a strong response from the audience. Garnering favourable reviews, Dunki has seen its business grow with each passing day. In both the domestic market as well as the overseas territories the business of the film has been a resounding success. Now, just a few days after its release, Dunki has managed to enter the list of Top 10 Highest Worldwide Grossers of 2023.
Collecting Rs. 256.33 cr at the worldwide box office, with Rs. 152.75 cr coming in from the domestic box office and a further Rs. 103.55 cr from the overseas markets, Dunki has now emerged as the eighth highest worldwide grosser of 2023. With this, the business of the film has now managed to surpass the business of previous releases like the Akshay Kumar starrer OMG 2 that had collected Rs. 221.08 cr, and the Ranbir Kapoor – Shraddha Kapoor starrer Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar that had collected Rs. 220.1 cr at the worldwide box office.
Though the film still has a long way to go, with the Christmas festivities on in full swing, coupled with the wide release, SRK’s massive fan following and the New Year celebrations round the corner, it is highly likely that the business of Dunki will see further growth. In fact, trade predictions state that the business of Dunki will eventually surpass the worldwide collections of The Kerala Story in the coming few days.
