Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani’s first-ever collaboration, Dunki, has shown a drop at the box office in India on Day 2. According to early estimates, the Rajkumar Hirani-directed immigration drama has collected in the range of Rs. 19 to 21 crores on Friday with approx. 25% drop on Day 2 as compared to Day 1. The two-day total now stands at approx. Rs. 49 cr. at the close of Day 2.
The top 3 chains – PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis – have collected in the range of Rs. 11.75 crores nett on the second day, contributing 56 percent to the total business of Dunki. The film faced competition from Salaar today onwards and it’s the trend tomorrow and the day after that will tell us how far the film can go. If Dunki stays in the same range as opening day, it will have long legs at the box office.
