Ayushmann Khurrana had showed his comic side in his first few films itself, including his debut Vicky Donor (2012). But he got to do an out-and-out comedy in Raaj Shaandilyaa’s Dream Girl (2019) and emerged victorious. He played the character of Karamveer who impersonated a woman called Pooja on a hotline in order to lure male callers. The actor is now all set to take his character further in Dream Girl 2, which is all set to release this week on August 25.
The film has a good amount of anticipation from Ayushmann’s fans. This can be seen from the decent advance booking that the film has garnered so far. As per latest reports, Dream Girl 2 has so far sold 15,000 tickets for its first day in the three biggest national chains in India till 10:30 am today. To break up the figure, the movie has sold, 8,150 (PVR), 3,300 (Inox) and 3550 (Cinepolis) tickets in the three chains.
One should note that these are the numbers only for the film’s first day on Friday and it doesn’t include the advance booking at other multiplexes and various single screen theatres of the country.
Produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, Dream Girl 2 also stars Ananya Panday, Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Abhishek Banerjee, Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani, Manoj Joshi, Seema Pahwa and Manjot Singh.
