Bollywood actors Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan have expressed their immense pleasure and excitement about their roles in Nag Ashwin’s much-anticipated sci-fi film, Kalki 2898 AD. The film has been praised by both actors for its visionary approach and groundbreaking execution.
At the special launch event on Wednesday in Mumbai, Amitabh Bachchan, who plays Ashwatthama in the movie, lauded his experience working on the film. “It’s a great honour to work in this film. It’s been truly a wonderful experience to work in a setup that has gone beyond what we have done in our careers,” he stated.
He further added, “The film is a little ahead of its time and a great honour for me to be a part of this movie.” Bachchan also humorously recalled pondering what might have been going on in Nag Ashwin’s mind when he conceived such a unique and ambitious project.

Deepika Padukone, who plays the lead role alongside Prabhas in the movie, described the project as a significant learning opportunity and an incredible experience on both personal and professional fronts. “It was a great learning opportunity for me along with an incredible experience at a personal and professional level,” she said. Padukone expressed her eagerness to share the film with audiences, highlighting the innovative work done by director Nag Ashwin. “We can’t wait to show the world what Nagi (Nag Ashwin) has done,” she added.

Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD also stars Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani in pivotal roles. The second trailer will arrive on June 21. The film releases in theatres on June 27, 2024.
