The trailer of Chandu Champion was held at a cricket stadium in Gwalior, Kartik Aaryan’s hometown. The stadium was filled not just with media but also hundreds of fans who cheered for their local boy.
Kartik Aaryan smiled as he said, “I was in the safest hands. Sajid Nadiadwala sir made this film into a passion project. No one could have done what he managed to achieve.”
He added, “I am thankful to be offered this film; I don’t think anyone would have imagined me in such a role.”
He continued, “I asked Kabir Khan sir after the narration that is it a true story or fiction because it is next to impossible for a person to have so many twists and turns in their lives. Hence, I was shocked.”
He raised laughs as he revealed, “For a month, I was skeptical. Maine haan bol diya tha Sajid sir and Kabir sir ke pyaar mein! I wondered if I’ll be able to do it and work in just this one film. I became a robot and was following their orders.”
Kabir Khan added, “Nowadays, those who go in gyms know how much steroid gets misused. Kartik built his body naturally, without any substance. Iska faayda yeh hai ki zindagi bhar unke saath yeh body rahegi. And you can see how his body looks on screen. Fit aur healthy body aisi dikhayi deti hai. It’s almost next to impossible task that Kartik has managed to pull off. We snatched away all his favourite dishes!”
Chandu Champion releases in cinemas on June 14.
