After Jawan, the next venture of Atlee, Baby John with Varun Dhawan has taken a decent start in India on Christmas Day. According to early estimates, Baby John has collected in the range of Rs. 13 crores to 13.5 crores on Wednesday, making it one of the biggest starts for non-franchise in post-pandemic times for a young hero.
The film has done business despite a fractured release all across the board due to fierce competition from Pushpa 2 and Mufasa. This was more like a three-way clash and yet the numbers are decent on the first day, but a 15-crore start would have made things even better.
There is a prolonged holiday period and that should help the film hit a century in India and emerge a success. The hold on Thursday is crucial as it’s important for Baby John to collect Rs. 7.5 crores or more and then enter the weekend with the scope to grow and hit the Rs 50 crore mark in 5 days flat.
