It was yet another good day for Bollywood as almost Rs. 10 crores more came in on Friday. There has been no new notable release this week and meanwhile Dream Girl 2 and Gadar 2 are anyways doing quite well. In fact in the week gone by, both the films had crossed Rs. 60 crores mark each and brought in a combined total in excess of Rs. 130 crores. No wonder, there is a lot of steam left in the two films and while at least Rs. 50 crores more will come in 6 days of the week before Jawan arrives early on Thursday, a start has been made.
This was seen with Rs. 4.70 crores more that Dream Girl 2 brought at the box office on its second Friday. Considering the fact that first Friday collections of the film were Rs. 10.69 crores, anything over Rs. 4 crores would have been good as well for the Ekta Kapoor production. However, the film has done better, which pretty much reaffirms that there is good audience acceptance and it’s not just the holiday season helping the cause. Currently standing at Rs. 71.60 crores, it would crossed Andhadhun lifetime of Rs. 75.60 crores today.
On the other hand Gadar 2 is also gearing up for the biggest milestone celebration that Bollywood biggies can vouch for in the current times, an entry into the Rs. 500 Crore Club. So far, this is an absolutely elite club with only Pathaan and Baahubali: The Conclusion in there. Now soon Gadar 2 will be up there as well, what with Rs. 487.65 crores in its kitty so far. The hold in the fourth week is quite good as well with Rs. 5.20 crores coming in and with a big jump expected today and then further build up tomorrow, the Rs. 500 crores mark would be comfortably crossed.
