The Bollywood Hungama OTT India Fest 2024 and India Entertainment Awards kicked off with a bang on October 3 at the Taj Lands End in Mumbai. The inaugural day featured several insightful panel discussions with prominent figures from the Indian OTT industry. The second day on October 4 commenced with the first panel featuring Kubbra Sait, Isha Talwar and Maanvi Gagroo. During the panel, the celebrities talked about the advertisements on sports channels and how product placements have seeped into streaming platforms too.
Giving an example of how people don’t pause sports channels even during advertisements because what if someone missed a crucial point in the game. However, the same can’t be applied to the streaming platform as one can pause even during the climax of a project. Kubbra Sait said, “That person knows that they can’t miss a six. However, [in case of a streaming project], what if you miss out on the climax and thrill of it? The disengagement towards the content. So, don’t pause. Now, I will enslave you.” To which, Maanvi agreed because one tends to sit out to binge anyway while talking about when advertisements become a part of the narrative.
