Bobby Deol and Sunny Deol get emotional recounting tough years in Bollywood: “We are in limelight since the 60s but…”

Following the emotional episode with Aamir Khan, Kapil Sharma had Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol as guests on him upcoming show, The Great Indian Kapil Show. The makers released the trailer for the upcoming episode on Tuesday, showing the Deols embracing their mischievous side as they banter with Kapil Sharma and his crew of comedians. The video also includes a heartbreaking scene in which Sunny Deol discusses the difficulties his family encountered while in Bollywood.

Sunny Deol reflected on their path, said, “We’ve been in the spotlight since 1960, but for many years we’ve been trying, but things just weren’t working. Then my son married, Gadar 2 was out, and my father’s film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani came out, and we couldn’t believe how fortunate we were. After the animal was released, it nailed it.”

Sunny also offered insight into his relationship with his father and said, “My dad asks me to sit with him and talk to him like a friend. I tell him that when I tell you things like a friend, you start behaving like a father.”

The teaser shows the Deol brothers embracing their goofy side as they engage in lively banter with Krushna Abhishek, who plays Abrar, Bobby’s character in Animal. In addition, fans are treated to glimpses of fun-filled interactions with Sunny Deol and Sunil Grover, who plays Engineer Chumbak Mital.

The year 2023 proved to be extremely prosperous for the Deols. The pairing of veteran actor Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani struck a chord with moviegoers. Following this, Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 hit theatres, becoming the fifth highest-grossing Indian film of 2023. Sunny had attempted comebacks in a number of films prior to Gadar 2, but none of them had made a lasting impression.

Similarly, Bobby Deol’s portrayal of a negative character in Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal earned positive feedback from moviegoers, resulting in a number of viral moments from the film. Bobby had played impactful characters in recent years in production such as Class of 83, but they couldn’t equal the success of Animal.
