Bandaa Singh Chaudhary trailer launch: Arshad Warsi, Arbaaz Khan share their views on Govinda’s bullet injury: “Yeh bahut hi ajeeb sa ittefaq…”

Arshad Warsi, Meher Vij, director Abhishek Saxena and Producer Arbaaz Khan, Manish Mishra and others attended the trailer launch of their film Bandaa Singh Chaudhary at a multiplex in Mumbai. It happened on the same day when Govinda accidentally shot his leg and was hospitalized. As expected, the team of the film was asked about it.

Arshad Warsi said, “It’s unfortunate. In fact, it’s very unfortunate. Aisa hona nahin chahiye. We all feel very bad. We were talking about this incident outside. I think yeh bahut hi ajeeb sa ittefaq hai.”

Arbaaz Khan agreed saying, “What Arshad said is absolutely right. It’s a very unfortunate incident. Since it just happened, we don’t know the exact details of it. We just hope that he’s doing well and is safe. Our love and prayers are with him. I hope he recovers fast from all of it.”

At another point, Arbaaz Khan also clarified that Bandaa Singh Chaudhary is not a political film. He said, “This film is based in a certain time where there must have been some unrest happening. But the story is about a family and it’s also a love story. It’s about how they are fighting for their home, respect and dignity.”

When asked if Arshad Warsi was the first choice for the film, Arbaaz replied in the affirmative and also said, “He and I have done one unfinished film as well, Jeetenge Hum. Its director (Sunil Bohra) was crazy.” Arshad laughed as he remembered those days, “We had a great time doing that film together.”

Arshad Warsi then spoke about his character and what he took away from playing this role. He stated, “I have not played a character like this before. There was a slight Punjabi twang in his personality, in the way he walked, spoke, behaved and also in his body language.”

He continued, “I keep saying that acting is like special effects. If you can see special effects, it’s bad special effects. Similarly, if you can see acting, it’s bad acting! This is my advice to the new actors – try to be as natural as possible.”

Bandaa Singh Chaudhary releases in cinemas on October 25.
