Baipan Bhari Deva Box Office: Week 2 earns double of week 1, set to cross Ved lifetime and surpass even Sairat

Box office is alive, and how. While Hollywood films have been regularly doing well at theatres, Bollywood too has started getting steady. Meanwhile, six months after Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh starrer Ved emerged as a huge blockbuster, it’s time for yet another Marathi film to hit the roof. It’s Baipan Bhari Deva, which is doing unthinkable business currently, and here are the details.

The film already stands at Rs. 39.85 crores* after 15 days and what makes it all the more astonishing is the fact that the second week has done double the business of the first week. Something like this does happen when collections are on the lower side and the word of mouth is fantabulous. However, for a film to do that when the first week business is over Rs. 12.50 crores and still the second week goes on to almost double these numbers at Rs. 24.85 crores is something very rare.

The film has been seeing excellent collections all through with over Rs. 2.50 crores coming on third Friday as well, which means Rs. 62 crores lifetime of Ved would be history pretty soon. In fact, it won’t take much time for it to cross Rs. 71 crores lifetime of Marathi cinema’s biggest grosser ever, Sairat, pretty soon as well, which means there is history in the making. One just hopes that it sets the benchmark for many more Marathi films as well and soon even the regional cinema gets its first ever Rs. 100 Crore Club all time blockbuster too.
