Filmmaker Anand Tiwari’s Bad Newz is all set to release on Friday July 19. Starring Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk, the movie is the second in the series after Good Newwz (2019), which starred Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani. The 2019 movie was a comedy born out of a semen exchange.
Bad Newz also revolves around pregnancy but under bizarre circumstances. The film is based on heteropaternal superfecundation. It basically means a woman being pregnant with twins from two different fathers. In this case, Dimri’s character gets pregnant with twins by two men, played by Kaushal and Virk.
It is not often that you get to see a comedy born out of pregnancy. So, it is quite interesting and amusing that a pregnancy comedy in Marathi will also be releasing on the same day as Bad Newz.
Director Varun Narvekar’s Ek Don Teen Chaar is that film and it stars Nipun Dharmadhikari (who recently directed Ishq Vishk Rebound) and Vaidehi Parshurami in the lead. It’s based on a couple that gets pregnant. But the twist is that the woman is pregnant with quadruplets, which means that she is carrying not one or two but four kids!
The trailer of Ek Don Teen Chaar, which was released recently, showed that the film is a sensible comedy born out of the situation faced by the young couple forced to welcome four kids. But the trailer ends on a surprising and thrilling note. It is revealed in the end that the couple might be pregnant with as many as six kids! It seems like one will need to wait and see the film to know how many kids they are blessed with.
