Ashutosh Gowariker on 20 years of Swades, “To witness the film’s enduring impact on people’s lives is truly humbling”

Ashutosh Gowariker Productions Pvt Ltd. marks the 20th anniversary of the film Swades, starring Shah Rukh Khan. Directed, produced, and co-written by Ashutosh Gowariker, with Sunita Gowariker as producer, “Swades” was the debut production of their banner. The film’s music and background score were composed by A. R. Rahman, with lyrics by Javed Akhtar.

Swades is celebrated as a cult classic, a film that was ahead of its time and continues to resonate with audiences worldwide. It is widely regarded as one of Shah Rukh Khan’s finest performances, portraying the journey of an NRI who returns to India to find his roots and make a difference in his homeland.
