Anushka Kaushik remembers Patna Shuklla co-star late Satish Kaushik: “Grateful to have met and worked with him at the beginning of my career”

Disney+ Hotstar’s upcoming film, Patna Shuklla takes you on the journey of a fearless lawyer, who takes matters into her own hands when she sees a student entangled in an education scam and soon realizes that she is pitted against a Chief Minister candidate. Bringing to screens a scam unlike ever seen before – Patna Shukla dives into the education scam of fake roll numbers that affects the lives of thousands of earnest students in India.

The Patna Shukla cast not only showcases excellent on-screen chemistry but also, but it’s also no secret that they share a fantastic off-screen bond. Anushka Kaushik, portraying Rinki Kumari in Disney+ Hotstar’s Patna Shukla has spilled the beans on their camaraderie, including her special relationship with the late Satish Kaushik.

Anushka Kaushik, who plays the character of Rinki Kumari in Patna Shuklla, says, “I am so thankful for having had the opportunity to work with Satish Kaushik sir in his last days. I had previously worked with him on a film called Dhar, and after that, I got the chance to work on Patna Shukla and once again collaborate with him. He would affectionately call me ‘Kaushik, kaisi hi Kaushik?’ When I got engrossed in something else, he would playfully say, ‘Kaushik, kaha hai Kaushik, kaha hai tera dhyaan?’ He never called me by my first name; he always referred to me as Kaushik. One day during the shoot, someone from the junior cast approached me and asked, ‘Are you from Satish Kaushik’s family? Because he keeps calling you, loves you so much, and your surname is also Kaushik.’ I wish I could be his family. He is one of the most beautiful souls I have met on my journey, and I am grateful to have met and worked with him at the beginning of my career.”

She added, “Apart from that, Chandan Roy Sanyal and Manav Vij used to tease me a lot and when I gave in to the banter and said something back, Chandan, being mischievous, would playfully ask, ‘How did you say that?’ considering he is a senior actor. He used to tease a lot on set. All of us share an amazing chemistry.”

Produced by Arbaaz Khan Productions and directed by Vivek Budakoti, the courtroom drama begins streaming on Disney+ Hotstar starting March 22, 2024.
