Anjumm Shharma aka Last King of Mirzapur Sharad Shukla to return in Mirzapur – the film

Recently the makers of Mirzapur, one of the most popular shows ever made in India, announced a film after the conclusion of third season recently. While the teaser promises return of two beloved characters Munna Tripathi and Compounder played by Divyendu and Abhishek Banerjee respectively, the details for other characters is uncertain. Amongst the same, Sharad Shukla aka Anjumm Shharma, who celebrates his birthday today on November 5, is also expected to return in the film.

After a brief appearance in season one, Anjumm Shharma rose to fame in second season, eventually emerging as the showrunner of season three. However, adding to the list of actors whose characters were lost in the show, Sharad Shukla also meets his fate in the finale, leading to huge disappointment amongst the fans. With the possibility of Anjumm returning to the film set on the same premise, fans displayed interest in the character arc this time.

A source close to the development shared, “Mirzapur is the race for the throne or gaddi, which since forever was amongst Mirzapur and Jaunpur. As the show dates back to when Kaleen bhaiyya ruled over the business and the city, it is quite natural that Shuklas also make an appearance. However, this time the setting of the situation and the fate of the characters would be different.”

For the unversed, ahead of Diwali, Farhan Akhtar shared this announcement about a film on Mirzapur on the social media platform X, where he wrote, “Ab bhaukaal bhi bada hoga, aur parda bhi”, along with a teaser showcasing Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyenndu Sharma, and Abhishek Banerjee, confirming their presence in the movie version.

Making his first onscreen appearance with Oscar winning film Slumdog Millionaire, Anjumm Shharma was also seen in Farhan Akhtar- Amitabh Bachchan starrer Wazir, Milan Luthria web-series Sultan of Delhi amongst others. Currently, while he is expected to return to the world of Mirzapur, we hear that Anjumm is also looking forward to a few interesting and different experiences.
